General Description:

This position is responsible for the maintenance and enhancement of a software application created and used in-house by employees.  Responsibilities include designing, developing, testing and deploying software solutions and updates.  Install both new programs/technologies and changes to existing programs/technologies of a complex nature with assistance of higher level personnel in order to provide quality IT services to user departments. Designs program/technologies under the direction of supervisor

Specific (Essential) Responsibilities:  

  • Write application/interface code from specifications conforming to established methodology and standards.
  • Conduct unit tests of new or modified applications.
  • Participate in code reviews to represent reviewed work for adherence to standards and specifications.
  • Write or revise program documentation, operations documentation and user guides in accordance with standards.
  • Complete technical training and company orientation as required to strengthen organizational and technical knowledge.

 

Requirements:

  • Education and Experience:  

Five+ years of programming experience in the MS-Windows development environment using the Microsoft .NET and C# programming language a MUST. Experience in Web development using Microsoft ASP & ASP.net a plus.  Experience using MS-SQL Server 2000 & DTS, OOA/OOD/OOP, SQL SSRS, Dynamics GP, Crystal Reports, UML.

  • Skills:

Strong SQL querying skills, building front ends for data driven business applications.  Crystal report generation experience a plus.

  • Capabilities:

Work in a team programming environment utilizing tools and conventions adopted by ASI. Able to work independently.

  • Physical Requirements

Mobility within the office; access information using a computer.  May require some heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds).

  • Environmental Conditions

Indoors in normal office environment with little exposure to noise, dust, fumes, vibrations, and temperature changes;  computer use; work at fast pace with unscheduled interruptions; responsibilities occasionally may require an adjusted work schedule, overtime and evening/weekend hours in order to meet deadlines.
